Most-Telling Performances Week 6

Week 6: TEN Titans

Raiders MVP: LB Devin White

Devin White, a new addition to the Raiders defense this year, has totally reclaimed his spot on a NFL team and brought a serious and palpable energy that has ignited the defense. After losing featured LB's Divine Deablo and Robert Spillane to other teams, White has been a pleasant surprise that has given the Raiders stability and cohesion behind the line of scrimmage. In Sunday's game, White forced a fumble, had a sack, and also an interception. He was all over the place and demanding the Raiders defense follow his lead. Definitely worthy of a stout performance and a MVP designation.

Raiders Offensive MVP: Raiders offensive line

The Raiders offensive line was definitely on schedule to deliver some good performances because there had been lacking so much in the running game. Against a weaker opponent as TEN Titans, this was the perfect game to hone in on the right skills and get some movement the other way. Not only did they limit most of the activity, they made the game bearable for guys like Jeanty and Geno Smith to make their presence felt. However, this cannot be overstated because the Titans had a real line disruptor in Jeffery Simmons. He could've been a game-wrecker but the Raiders thwarted him enough to keep the defense from inflicting more pain.

Raiders Defensive MVP: LB Devin White

This one is easy because of items already stated, yet there is no reason to discount anything that was done on the front seven this game. DE Maxx Crosby was another menace around the ball causing misdirection. Now White is causing disturbance with his frenetic path to the football and getting to runners at the line. So, there has been a lot to like of White to this point and this game brought further evidence of his capabilities.

Breakout Player: DL Jonah Laulu

Laulu had a fantastic game as he got an early sack on Cam Ward and established the Raiders defense in the process. He now has four sacks on the season and really shone brightly in front of the home crowd. Everybody was sensing his contribution and his teammates could tap into his energy.

Player in Regression: CB Kyu Blu Kelly

Although Kelly is young, he has been struggling to keep opposing receivers at bay and away from the ball. He is also generating bad penalties and not showing critical control when the ball is in the air. The best solution may be to either make an adjustment or introduce rookie CB Darien Porter who has tons of potential. Kelly is not a imposing corner which may make Porter the better corner down the line.
