Week 6
TEN Titans
Game-breaker
In this matchup, LB Devin White was surging and getting the advantage with his speed and strength. He is a former Super Bowl champion with the TB Bucs and knows how to play the right way. He flies to the ball and gets good maneuverability around the line. He is a fun player to watch because he is tenacious and grabs hold of ball carriers in a lot of the plays. I am excited to see how the defense can rally around him and Crosby along with some other good young talent on the defensive line.
Tale-teller
The reason the Raiders won this game was extensively because the defensive line held their own against the rush and got to the quarterback. Cam Ward of the Titans was harassed and pressured consistently which allowed the Raiders to force a few turnovers. The Titans did not score in the first half which is largely because they made life hard on QB Ward. RB Tony Pollard did not have a big game and with only 10 points scored, the entire line allowed the back seven to do their job as well.
Trend-setter
I am giving this to a mostly unrecognized young defensive lineman in Jonah Laulu who really played hard and like Devin White, was showing qualities that need to show when the ball is snapped. This brings the rest of the Raiders into question and how games like this can not only give him more playing time but also convince others about what they are doing as a whole. In general, guys like Laulu know what value they bring when they play with guys like DE Maxx Crosby, who savors the chance to play with other big, strong finishers.
